Connor MacdonaldI’m Connor. I’ve been called Big Mac, triple C Mac D, C Mac, Mac daddy, concon, bird. Whatever. Call me what you want but I’ve been reppin G-Life clothing nonstop for the past year and a half. Clothes as comfortable, detailed and good looking as these are so hot that they should be illegal. This company is undoubtedly goin to the top in the climbing community. It got me thinking about the old adidas phrase, “where have your stripes been?” Well, I don’t know about my stripes but my G-Life shirts have been on my back from the youth world championships in Valence, France to the 2010 Adult ABS bouldering Nationals in Virginia to The limestone cliffs of Mallorca……..My G’s have been around the world! -
Colette McInerneyColette McInerney finds writing about herself in the third person quite entertaining. And even though she vows it makes her a little bit crazy, she delves into the obligatory effort with ease. When she thinks about what to write about herself for other people to read she wants to make things up that sound like the beginning of an excellent novel. She imagines its cover to be decorated with a beachfront property, where a pelican perches on a distant fence and waves wash along the shore rolling back and forth leading to an endless ocean. She pictures the things happening in this novel to be a better reflection of the world in which she lives in and decides it will give a more vibrant overview of the feelings and wonderment that are attached to the actual life she leads. In the end she sleeps better knowing that people are more entertained by their own imaginations than a rigid calculation of facts. -
Denise StrzempekI started climbing 12 years ago and have not been able to quit since. I currently live in Salt Lake City but I am an East Coast climber at heart. I love the physical, gymnastic aspect of climbing and I am attracted to routes and boulders that dictate that type of movement. My current climbing aspiration is to do anything at Little Cottonwood Canyon, some of the hardest bouldering I have encountered! When I’m not climbing I enjoy being a homebody, working on art projects, writing, reading, drinking tea and taking care of my plants… I work as a nurse aide in orthopaedic surgery. -

Rocco BocchicchioI was born and grew up in South Jersey, and got my start climbing in a local gym there called Vertical Reality. I worked in several gyms in the East as a freelance routesetter and team coach while enjoying the great local climbing the Northeast has to offer. During my 9 years as a climber in Jersey, I also managed to travel extensively throughout the US, and have been priveleged enough to climb in many of the best bouldering areas this country has to offer. In 2008 I moved to Salt Lake City to start a new life with my now wife, Mary. I now own a concrete resurfacing company, where I designate my own hours, which allows us to take advantage of the fact that we have so many of our favorite areas within a reasonable driving distance. In addition to that, since the move I’ve found a new passion that has been sparked by the massive quantities of rock surrounding us…developing new problems. Seeking out beautiful new lines and continuing to teach and support other climbers through my experience are my driving forces in climbing. -
John KuphalKoots, kooter, kootrina, no nick-name can contain the psych emanating from my bowels. I work a normal 9-5 job as a business applications analyst and a second job as the head route setter at The Cliffs at Valhalla. As a proud father of two girls and husband of a hotty, I’m a busy dood, and time is of the essence when rock climbing. I grew up in Oregon where I was first introduced to climbing at Smith Rock, moved to Norway as a teen, and then settled in New York where I currently reside. Riding escalators to the top of new boulders is my passion, preferably the high ones. I can usually be found climbing at local gneiss crags in Putnam county and random Gunks areas. My favorite color is green, and I love to eat a little sushi with my wasabi. A true Gemini, I flip modes like its going out of style. I always look forward to seeing everyone at the carriage road on Sundays. -
Owen LauberMy name is Owen Lauber, I have many nicknames, including laubero and o-dog-c. I’ve been climbing for roughly four years now, all along the North East inside and out. I started out at the cliffs at Valhalla, a gym owned by Mike Wolfert, where I still climb today. My two favorite things to do are climbing and sleeping. My biggest goal in life is to travel the world and climb as many beautiful climbs as possible. When it comes to particular climbing styles I prefer bouldering, though I have recently been doing more and more sport. My favorite spot to boulder is at Ice Pond in Putnam County, New York. Now when it comes to sport climbing, there’s no place like New Hampshire. Rumney, NH is by far my favorite place to sport climb and home to my favorite climb, named Bottom Feeder, which is more like a boulder problem and isn’t exactly the most popular climb there but it was my first 5.13a outside and I’ll never forget it.
